April 2006

The band is pleased to announced that two of its members have recently got engaged to be married.

Vicky, the bands principal cornet player has accepted the proposal of marriage from Paul. The happy couple have not named the day yet but are now actively looking for a house.

The other happy couple to pronounce their love for each other are Krysta, the bands soprano cornet player and Tom. They are not rushing into circumstances yet, but enjoying their joint happiness together.

All the members, officials and friends of the band are most pleased for both happy couples and pass on many congratulations and wish them every happiness in their future lives together.

 

October 7th 2005

The Band have announced that they are to hold their annual Christmas Dinner early this year due to their busy concert schedule over the Christmas period. The Band members along with family, friends and supporters (Oh! and Santa) will be having an enjoyable evening at the Dragon Pearl Cantonese Restaurant in Rotherham on the night of the 25th November. Be warned Whiston Band on tour, so lock up your men (Vicky and Krysta will be about!)

September 17th 2005

The Band was proud to lead the march past for the Royal Air Force Association (Rotherham Branch) in commemoration of the 65th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The band, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy Cadets together with veterans from the services marched from the War Memorial in Clifton Park to All Saints Square where the Mayor of Rotherham took the Salute. A service of Remembrance then took place in Rotherham Minster.
